I feel I have a better handle on my anxiety. I still have ways to go but am feeling better. Sophia, my counsellor, has helped me by teaching me mindfulness and focusing on the present. Sophia has a way of explaining concepts that made it easy to understand and relevant for me. I highly recommend her as a counsellor. Overall, I feel very supported. From the initial discussion with the receptionist. He listened to my needs and recommended a counsellor based on our discussions to onboarding as a client. The process was smooth and made easy.

The intake process is very good and nice. I wasnt left hanging for very long. After being matched with a counsellor and being able to actually get some sort of counselling/help on my poverty income, I am very grateful. I wish there were free counselling for people who have had there lives completely different than ever imagined cause they were in a horrible car crash at 20 and it changes life from then on and they suffer in horrible pain which causes so much domino effect in every aspect of life. I know you arent in charge of BC's health and insurance... but felt I needed to mention the ...I wish. I am happy with my cousellor Vanessa. I have had psychologist for 23 years and hes retired now (hes been seeing me for free cause I was 17 and kicked out of parents place and then my car accident etc etc) and I've had another counsellor when I moved for 10 ish years as well. The only thing that scares me and I dont like about student counsellors is that they will have to leave and I will again have to go through the "getting to know you phase" but am still grateful. I just wish there was an option that if the patient wanted all the recordings or notes to be passed on to the next student counsellor, it could. I dont know how long I will have Vanessa but I need this and I'm scared by the time we get somewhere after all the "getting to learn me and my stuff" It will be over or the end. I've maybe had 6 sessions with Vanessa and we are still figuring us out. I've actually never had a women counsellor or psychologist before so this is new for me and I do find it quite different for some reason. But there is nothing wrong with Vanessa. I've also never done video counselling and I LOVE IT and need it! It saves me soooooooo much stress and physical pain driving and getting properly dressed and sitting proper etc. So being at home helps ALOT!!!! Thanks for the opportunity to have some sort of cou selling for a fee I can beg my Mom for (although I'm an adult (40) and its horrible to have to ask for money in any means, I live in North Vancouver on disability wage and rent ! So its extremely unaffordable to live anywhere in the lower mainland on my income. I think NFC is amazing so far and just appreciate so much it's on a sliding scale. But what do I do once my student leaves and becomes a well paid person ? Thank you very much !

The staff are super friendly and listen to your needs. Maggie was a fantastic counsellor who gave me great tools and strategies that I could implement into my everyday life. I highly recommend No Fear Counselling to anyone who has struggled with mental illness and trauma. I always leave my sessions feeling lighter and more relieved. Thanks Maggie!

Hello, This is in response to a request from No Fear Counselling for feedback regarding my session. Want to thank Suzanne for her kind and thoughtful input. She listened and gave me "space" to talk about my situation. I felt very comfortable talking to Suzanne and expressing how I felt; how I was (and wasn't) coping at times. Suzanne gave me positive feedback and for that I am grateful. I continue to on my journey and am "moving forward" the best way that I can. My situation is rather unique and doesn't happen to everybody, it is new territory for many but I make the effort every day to improve my situation, the best that I can. (There don't appear to be any resources available to help with this situation. I have tried to access other services, but they are limited with their experience in dealing with these situations). I have learned that I cannot change people, that I must acknowledge that and not let that burden me, as it has been doing for some time now. I need to let go and take care of myself. I have loving support of family and friends and that is what continues to motivate me. I am grateful that I was able to utilize your services and all that you have to offer. Thank you! Ernestine O'Rourke
